Editorial policy
Our standards for sourcing, methodology labels, comparisons, corrections, and commercial independence.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Topic selection
We prioritise questions where a clear decision framework can help a reader evaluate a product, service, or purchase. Affiliate availability does not determine whether a topic is covered or the conclusion reached.
Research and sources
We prefer primary and authoritative sources for factual claims, including official specifications, documentation, pricing pages, support material, terms, and privacy information. Secondary sources may provide context, but marketing language is not treated as independent evidence. Sources and uncertainty are identified where they materially affect a decision.
Methodology labels
Published content uses a methodology label. A research-based guide relies on documented sources and editorial analysis. A buying guide provides a criteria-led decision framework. A product comparison evaluates products or approaches against stated factors. Hands-on tested is used only when firsthand testing occurred and the method can be described.
Comparisons and evaluations
We aim to compare meaningful differences such as compatibility, limits, total cost, workflow fit, privacy, maintenance, and exit options. We avoid invented scores and do not present a feature count as a complete verdict.
Prices and promotions
Prices, availability, plan limits, and promotional terms can change. When we mention them, we use the best available source and state when readers should confirm current merchant terms. We do not guarantee that an offer remains available.
Corrections and updates
Material factual errors should be corrected when identified. The page’s updated date is changed when an edit materially affects the guidance. We do not promise a fixed review schedule for every page; readers should verify time-sensitive information directly with the provider.
Affiliate independence
Affiliate relationships do not guarantee inclusion, a positive conclusion, or placement. Pages containing active affiliate links include a nearby disclosure, and eligible outgoing links are marked as sponsored. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Limitations
Desk research cannot reproduce every device, account, location, accessibility need, or long-term use case. We state important limitations and do not claim professional certification, independent laboratory testing, or firsthand experience unless that work occurred.
